We have two (or more) classes so will students be able to sit the assessment at different times? Yes each class room will be run independently.
Will students be able to do the practice exercise beforehand? Yes, we recommend students to have a go at the teaching and learning sims for a few periods if you are not already using it during your teaching.
How much notice is needed before the assessment is run? Please tell us as soon as you have booked the labs, but 1 day would be enough.
Is the second attempt included in the $5 cost per student? Yes, a re-sit is part of the assessment. They can go back to a particular task and try again, or resit the whole exam again. It is up to you.
If a student is away during the assessment, can they sit it at another time? Yes we can arrange for them to sit another exam with your supervision.
Some students will struggle with finding the questions on screen. Is it possible to print questions? Yes, go to the task that you want to print out and press Ctrl + P, choose the printer and click print. Note that for the class sim, each student may have a different set of numbers so it should be printed by students themselves.
What do we need to supply NZQA for moderation purposes? We will send you the assessment specifications. You can print out all your students’ reports as PDFs after they complete the assessment and send the samples to NZQA electronically.
